Being born and bred on a farm in the Cotswolds led to a deep love of nature and the subtle shapes and curves of living things. It also gave me the freedom to spend untrammelled time watching and studying living things and their behaviour.

Capturing that essential character and inner life as well as the outer form is always the aim of my sculpture, which is figurative, but not always strictly representational.

I work in clay which is then either cast in a variety of materials (foundry bronze, bronze resin, stone resin or iron resin) or fired in a kiln. I never use glaze on the ceramic pieces, but they may be smoke-fired in some way (including naked-raku) or treated with oxides.

Sizes vary from small and intimate indoor pieces, to larger ones suitable for outdoor display.

My work has found its way as far afield as Australia and the USA, as well as in Europe and throughout this country, and I am always happy to consider commissions.
