Specifically in Chipping Campden I am Organist of St Catherine’s Church and I also direct the choir there.
More generally I perform on piano, organ and harpsichord, both by myself and with other individuals and groups. I also write music and teach privately, in addition to work with students at the Birmingham Conservatoire and on music courses.
For St Catherine’s School I have also led a couple of contemporary music projects.

Charles Matthews played piano in BBC TV's January programme of The Lark Ascending. In the programme Dame Diana Rigg explored the enduring popularity of The Lark Ascending by the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, which was recently chosen as Britain's favourite piece of classical music by listeners to Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4. Alongside Charles on piano was Julia Hwang on violin.
